Flexible network

Flexible network represents infrastructure for the establishment of private data networks and provides organizations with access to internet. It proves very useful when it comes to interconnecting local networks and terminals and is thus especially interesting to telecommunication carriers.

The Telekom Slovenije flexible network is connected with the ATM network and Sipax, international connectibility is ensured as well.

Lease of managed digital data transmission lines

The service of managed leased lines within the flexible network provides your organization with reliable, adaptable and high quality data communications.

Managed leased lines enable you to connect two locations or one location to several locations with transfer rates of: n x 64 kbit/s ( maximum 1984 kbit/s ). All lines are managed from the network management center in Ljubljana , where all the connections in the network are established, continuously monitored and diagnostics are run frequently.

The network includes all the necessary digital mobile devices and usually extends to the digital ports of user terminals. These can be of the following types: V.24, V.35, X.21 or G.703/704.

The prices of managed leased lines are set according to the distance between locations, between which the user is using a managed leased digital line, according to bit speed needed and the monthly lease for the connection point, which depends on the bit speed of the leased line to the Flexible network.

The managed leased lines service in the Telekom Flexible network is above all suitable for applications such as:

  • client/server,
  • interconnection of local e-mail servers,
  • joint use of files,
  • interconnection of LAN networks,
  • remote access to databases,
  • transfer of graphic information,
  • access to internet services.

Frame relay service

The service of block distribution is an excellent solution for applications demanding reliable, efficient and economic data communication.

By using its terminal equipment - most frequently these are routers, multiplexors, FRAD (Frame Relay Access Device) and FEP (Front End Processor) - your organization is accessing the Flexible network via access lines. Digital port of the terminal is the line between user equipment and public network. Telekom Slovenije is managing and maintaining the network up to this port.

Block distribution in the Flexible network complies with international standards and corresponds to the ITU I.122 recommendation, which ensures compatibility with the widest spectrum of terminal equipment and with other networks.

The basic service of block distribution is a permanent virtual connection , which guarantees the user to have transfer rates with the guaranteed information transfer rate (CIR) even when the Flexible network is fully used.

The block distribution service within Telekom's Flexible network is especially suitable for applications such as:

  • client/server,
  • interconnection of local e-mail servers,
  • joint use of files,
  • interconnection of LAN networks,
  • remote access to databases,
  • transfers of graphic information.
