Virtual Private Networks
Virtual private network is a service that supports efficient and flexible communication in businesses or enterprise systems.
VPN is a private network that uses Telekom Slovenije's backbone network for access to remote locations or users. Instead of using leased lines, VPN uses virtual connections, which are routed via the IP/MPLS network to connect local networks with remote locations.
The VPN service connects companies' remote locations to a virtual private network by using the public network, providing efficient and secure communication between locations. VPN can connect all types of locations, enabling telecommuting, virtual offices…
VPN L3
VPN L3 connects company's remote units in a virtual private network through Telekom Slovenije's IP/MPLS network. The user does not require any special devices to connect various locations into a virtual network. This is a private network, so the subscriber can select any IP settings (private addresses) at the locations, because the subscriber's traffic is completely separated from other users' traffic on the MPLS network. Routing between locations is provided by static routing or routing protocols (OSPF). The service is available as a standalone solution, or it can be managed by Telekom Slovenije, which brings some advantages. In the framework of managed VPL, the subscriber can also select from different types of service level agreements (SLA’s), in accordance with which Telekom Slovenije provides its services.
VPN L2
VPN L2 is a new service of connecting company's remote units with the central locations over Telekom Slovenije's IP/MPLS network. The MPLS network is used in a similar way as with the VPN L3 service. The difference, and at the same time an advantage for the subscriber, is that the entire virtual network behaves as if it was a simple L2 switch and not a router, as is the case with the VPN L3 service. The service is terminated at individual locations on the demarcation switch owned by Telekom Slovenije.
GetVPN
GetVPN is designed for more demanding users, who also wish to encrypt traffic on their connections in addition to the privacy provided by the VPN service. The service provides additional traffic encryption within VPN channels with encryption keys saved on the Key Server. The service is an upgraded Managed VPN L3 service.
It supports Multicast transfer, direct communication between individual locations, and Quality of Services (QoS) assurance mechanisms. The service can be expanded and additional locations can be added to the organization's network later. Additional security is provided by logging administrative changes on the equipment.
